We offer Fly Fishing Lesson Packages for half and full-day schools, regardless of your ability level. Our friendly Maine Guides will teach you how to select gear and tackle, casting techniques, entomology (the study of insects), fly-tying, and fundamental knots. You will also learn how to read the water to identify prime fish holding areas and how to play, land, and safely release fish. Sun Valley Sports classes are tailored to individual skills and designed to meet your private or group fly fishing requirements.

Fly Fishing lessons are generally held in the Sunday River, but we also fish the premier Androscoggin and Magalloway Rivers in Western Maine. The latest Orvis fly fishing rods and reels are always stocked and available for lessons or purchase. As an Orvis dealer, Sun Valley Sports sells a full line of flies and local fly patterns are available.
