Maine Snowmobile Rentals
At Sun Valley Sports, we offer Maine Snowmobile Rentals and specialize in Guided Tours. From family or group ½ and full-day outings, to extended trips, we have the snowmobile package for you. Complete with rentals, accessories, and a Master Maine Guide, we can promise an outdoor winter adventure in the beautiful mountains of Western Maine and New Hampshire.
Packages Rentals
For a half or full day of snowmobiling, you can ride in Evergreen Valley or tour Grafton Notch State Park. A personal Master Maine Guide can lead your group or family on an outing through the White Mountain National Forest. We have over 12,000 miles of groomed trails for your snowmobile rental and riding pleasure. Stay at our newly built Locke Mountain Cabin (see web for pics.) for multi-day Snowmobile adventures and packages located only just 5 minutes from the Sunday River Ski Resort.
Maine Snowmobile Ride and Dine (and fireworks) Package:
Our evening ride and dine tour package includes a snowmobile rental and ride to a local restaurant where you can enjoy dinner. On weekend nights, you can even ride to a grand fireworks display at Sunday River Ski Resort in Bethel.
For the Snowmobiler with their own snowmobiles, we offer in the Store at Sun Valley Sports, Maine non-resident snowmobile registrations, maps, oil, plugs, belts, clothing and a variety of other parts and accessories. Advice on where to ride and access trails is available because we do groom a majority of the trails in the surrounding area.
Our Arctic Cat snowmobile rentals are the new model 4-strokes. They are very quiet and you might get to see some of the local wildlife (moose, deer, turkeys and other animals) if you are lucky. When renting a snowmobile you will also be provided a helmet and suitable snowmobile boots. We also have snowmobile suits to rent at an additional fee.

Fly Fishing on Maine’s Rapid River
For fly fishing in one of the most pristine regions of Maine, Sun Valley Sports offers a full day guided trip to the renowned Rapid River. Known for famous brook trout and landlocked salmon, the Rapid River is one of the premier fly fishing destinations in Maine.
The day excursion begins at Sun Valley Sports, an authorized Orvis dealer and fly shop, where you will hook up with your Orvis-endorsed guide. Fishing licenses and any other necessary fly fishing equipment are available for purchase. A complete packed lunch is provided when reserved ahead of time. The journey begins with an hour and half drive to the trail head where you will embark on a mile hike through the beautiful Maine woods to the Rapid River. Wildlife sighting are common along the trip, including moose, deer, fox and rabbit.
An experienced Sun Valley Sports guide will lead you to the best pools and rifts the dam-controlled Rapid River is regaled for where you will spend the day fly fishing for renowned brook trout and landlocked salmon. According to Maine regulations, brook trout are strictly catch and release, only barbless hooks allowed, and there is a daily one-fish bag limit on landlocked salmon.
More than 10,000 acres surrounding the Rapid River and Rangeley Lake watershed are protected by Federal and State Agencies. For a truly remarkable and memorable fly fishing trip, the majestic setting of Maine’s Rapid River offers a memorable excursion.
